YSL ROUGE VOLUPTÉ SHINE LIPSTICK
Hi beauties, One of my favorite parts of being a YSL Beauty Crew member is experiencing new products and trying on new colors. I take my seasonal lip color line-up as seriously as my shoe game so I was more than thrilled to try on YSL's newest Rouge Volupté Shine Lipstick shades for spring.
The collection has three new shade attitudes for spring (day bloomer, night birds, weekenders) to empower women to harmonize their lip look with their mood simply by switching between the 12 new shades, each grouped into three different lifestyles.
I’m the definition of a day bloomer - someone who’s wants easy everyday, modern and neutral lip shades that look effortlessly chic as I run from meeting to photo shoot. It’s no secret that life in a big city can be fast paced. It sometimes feels like someone pressed fast-forward. A big part of my daily life is spent meeting fashion brands, attending collection previews and events and getting dressed to create content for you beauties.
Earlier this week, I stayed at the Thompson Hotel while working on a blog feature for their upscale boutique hotel. I figured it was the perfect day to bring you guys along for a peak at what a typical day looks like for a day bloomer like myself.
I live a very digitally driven lifestyle so it’s normal for me to have 20 things happening in one day. First up, Jose and I enjoyed a healthy breakfast in bed before getting ready for our busy but exciting day. We like to ease into our mornings when we can because once the day starts that’s it, we’re off to the races. After devouring breakfast, I got organized for the day then started getting ready for the day’s activities.
The first shade I applied was number 42 ‘Baume Midi Minuit’, which is essentially a sheer hydration and conditioner on a stick. I often use this one underneath other colors as it smoothes and conditions my sometimes very dry lips. Made with 65% oils, the deeply hydrating texture instantly melts into lips, providing a pop of color, instant hydration and then melts to gives your lips a wet-shine look. My first meeting of the day was with Canadian designer babe, Mary Young. She stopped by the penthouse to show me a few items from her new S/S collection. I wore '44 Nude Lavallière' on my lips because it's the perfect sheer and subtle pink-nude color. Perfect for when you need a little something-something to polish up your look.
Next up, I played around with the rest of the collection to find the perfect shade for my rooftop shoot happening later that day. I instantly fell in love with 41 Corail À Porter. It’s a stunning bright pink, perfect for spring. It instantly added a pop of fresh vibrancy to my all black look. Keep reading.
